Celebrating A Start: the Blog

One of my major objectives for 2025 was to finally develop and launch a blog focused on the interior design and home decor decisions I've made. This idea originated as early as 2021, but I kept delaying it and finding reasons to postpone.

Initially, when the pandemic slowed down in 2021 and John and I began dating, I felt I lacked the free time to blog. My schedule was filled with work, exploring new adventures with someone new, and managing the everyday responsibilities of adulthood.

The year 2022 became even more hectic as John and I got engaged, organized our wedding in just five months, and I began attending classes at the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID). Having been out of school for over ten years, I had to adapt to taking online courses while continuing to work.

The year 2023 was marked by significant changes: John and I got married, enjoyed a fantastic honeymoon in Italy, and I believed I knew what the future held. However, during our honeymoon, I was laid off from my job, and it took six months to secure a new one. In the meantime, John and I discovered this house, made an offer, sold my condo in Jersey City, and still took more online interior design courses. We moved out of the condo on November 30th and spent the holidays at my in-laws' house. Needless to say, there wasn't much free time for creativity!

2024 turned into the year of waiting. Our house was delayed by 6 months, pushing our initial plan to move in during January 2024 completely off track. We finally closed in May 2024 and then spent several months settling in and tackling major projects like the kitchen and dining room. As we embarked on new projects and made changes, I began documenting everything with photos and notes. That's when I realized it was the perfect opportunity to start this blog, allowing me to create an online journal of our changes from Day One and share my passion for interior design with others.

I'm glad I stopped making excuses this year because, as many have pointed out, there's never a perfect time to start anything. You just need to start somewhere, and that's exactly what I did. I'm pleased with the progress and content I've created over the past year. This is a hobby for me, not a full-time job, so I'm not concerned about not having a large following or social media presence. However, if my follower count were to increase, I'm open to exploring how this could evolve beyond a hobby.

To everyone who has been with us since the start of 2025, thank you! Your support and feedback have been invaluable, and I hope you stay with us in 2026. The upcoming year will bring more projects and transformations, as I've realized that a house is never truly "finished." A home evolves and adapts, just like the world around us, as the needs for each room change. I look forward to your continued love and feedback in the year ahead. Here's to 2026!
