This space has not been prioritized because it is a place upstairs and away from all the main rooms in the house, so it's been easy to toss aside.However, I realize it's time to make this space a beautiful retreat for those mornings when I don't want to get out of bed so quickly.

My home office design is still a work in progress, but I wanted to share more about John's home office, as the room underwent a complete transformation. We decided to convert the formal living room downstairs into John's home office.

Originally, we were going to get stamped concrete to surround the pool and seating areas, both for the price and a better look than the traditional smooth concrete. However, after one meeting at Bill's Landscaping in Colts Neck, NJ, we changed our minds.

The covered pavilion was the second most important part of the backyard design and needed to be part of the design with the pool. We decided on a large 20 x 20 ft pavilion.

The first part of the backyard design was the building out the inground pool. The pool needed to be built first due to the intricate network of pipes that connect to the cleaning system and construction began at the end of August 2024.

Now that the weather has warmed up in New Jersey, I have been completely unmotivated to do any projects indoors. So I'm going to focus on the great outdoors and the yard surrounding the house.

It’s hard to believe that the house closing was a year ago but time flies when you’re having fun getting settled into a home! While a lot of work has gone into the house, this is a good reminder that creating a home doesn’t happen overnight (or even in a year).
